More than 30 people are missing following a fire that destroyed a dive boat off of the coast of Southern California. NBC News Radio’s Michael Bower joins Tony with the latest.
There are some new studies out there on the link between genetics and sexuality. Before we go any further, there is no "gay" gene a part of your DNA that can determine your sexuality. However, a new study in the journal "Science" says five genetic variants connected to gay or lesbian sexuality have just been discovered. This was really just about using genetics to understand human behavior, but what about the idea of using this in a negative way -- to somehow try to "change" someone? There have been questions raised, but mostly stated that it would be nearly impossible. ABC's Cheri Preston is following and joins Tony.
Florida finishes final preparations ahead of what appears will be a very, very close pass from Hurricane Dorian. Evacuation orders are in place and some hospitals have been evacuated. ABC’s Alex Stone is in Melbourne, along Florida’s Space Coast where the storm may come the closest to making landfall in Florida. Alex can talk about conditions in Florida plus the now 5 deaths reported in the Bahamas. Alex joins Tony.
