A bipartisan committee is working on a plan to keep the government open. Is it possible for them to devise a proposal that could pass the House and Senate, AND get the President's signature? Meanwhile, a large Chinese delegation is in Washington for a new round of trade talks. NBC News Radio's Bill Zimpfer is following and joins Tony.

The weekly map produced by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows increasingly scarce places where influenza has not become a widespread problem. In some particularly hard-hit places, entire school districts have been shut down to avoid an out-of-control epidemic. ABC's Jim Ryan joins Tony with what he's found out.

A new study found that having a job that includes more psychological pressure is a key factor in weight gain for women, but not for men. The authors did say that having more autonomy did make a difference, as workers who have less control over their work gained a higher percentage of their weight. ABC News' Cheri Preston took a look at the data and talks with Tony about what she found.

Everyone knows the Super Bowl is the biggest game of the year. But it's also one of the best times to buy a new, big-screen TV. Only on Black Friday are deals typically better than they are right now, according to analysis by Consumer Reports. But beware: not all deals are real. Consumer Reports has scoured all the ads, and found some of the very best Super Bowl TV offers. Consumer Electronics Editor Jim Willcox joins Tony with a look at some good deals.
