Times they change.  A sad but true look at once thriving places that appeared on postcards and what they look like today.  Photographer Pablo Iglesias Maurer grabbed these postcards off eBay then traveled to see what they look like today.  Mind Blown!  See for yourself in today's "Video of the Day"!

A facial recognition system will be used across an Olympics for the first time as Tokyo organizers work to keep security tight and efficient at dozens of venues during the 2020 Games. The technology will be customized to monitor every accredited person — including athletes, officials, staff and media — at more than 40 venues, games villages and media centers, Olympic and company officials said Tuesday. Local organizers said Tokyo will be the first Olympic host to introduce the face recognition technology at all venues. The system is expected to effectively eliminate entry with forged IDs, reduce congestion at accredited waiting lines and reduce athletes' stress under hot weather.

Multiple studies show that a low-calorie diet is a quick method for weight loss for everyone, but a new study shows that men and women, after rapid weight loss from a low calorie diet, fared differently. For 8 weeks researchers put 2000 overweight, pre-diabetic individuals on a low-calorie diet. Both genders lost about 11 percent of their body weight (about 22 pounds for someone who weighed 200, for instance) and saw significant improvements in insulin resistance, which means better blood sugar control. But here is where the changes come in: men had a greater change in fat mass and waist circumference, lowering their heart rate and blood sugar indications. Women, however, benefited from the lower calorie diet in different ways: a larger decrease in hip circumference and better pulse pressure, but had some harmful changes like a decrease in “good” cholesterol and in lean body mass.
