Another of the 17 people murdered in a mass shooting at a South Florida high school last week will be laid to rest today. Carmen Schentrup’s funeral comes one day before her 17th birthday. After her services, around 100 of Carmen’s classmates will board charter buses and make the 450-mile trip from Broward County to the state capital to meet with Florida state lawmakers and discuss potential solutions for the school-shooting phenomenon. Meanwhile, suspect Nikolas Cruz had a second court appearance on Monday. ABC’s Jim Ryan is there and talks with Tony.

The issue of gun control is once again front and center as President Trump says he is open to more background checks.  NBC News Radio’s Bill Zimpfer has the latest with Tony.

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll surveys the public’s preferences on gun control and whether people think stricter gun laws could have prevented the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. Has the public’s opinion on guns and mental health screenings changed in the past couple of years?  ABC'S Aaron Katersky join Tony w/the latest.

Medals were awarded for ice dancing and women’s freestyle skiing—did the U.S. pick up anything? Plus, Team USA faced off against Slovakia in men’s hockey for a must-win game. ABC’s Alex Stone is in Pyeongchang and has the results with Tony.
