Tony Cruise checks in with Louisville resident Jim Thayer who also lives in the St. Petersburg area as they ride out Hurricane Irma.

President Trump and members of his cabinet will be monitoring Hurricane Irma from Camp David over the weekend. NBC News Radio's Joe Gomez has the latest on government relief efforts targeted for both Hurricanes Irma and Harvey and talks with Tony.

The September 11 attacks, four separate terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda on the United States the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001,  killed 2,997 people and injured over 6,000 others.  Today, 16 years later, the effects are still being felt as first responders succumb to illnesses from  days spent at Ground Zero searching for survivors.  And astoundingly, the Medical Examiner’s Office is still processing DNA samples of victims bringing still-waiting families some small measure of closure and hopefully comfort.  ABC's Aaron Katersky is in New York and talks with Tony about how the nation has moved forward.
