(Indianapolis, IN) - The Indiana National Guard is heading out on winter storm duty. Governor Eric Holcomb has activated 240 soldiers to help stranded drivers across the state.
Both the governor and IN-DOT's director are asking people not to drive Thursday. They say many parts of the state will see near-blizzard conditions in northern and central portions of the state. Southern Indiana is expected to see a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.
IN-DOT is also calling-up reinforcements. Nearly 1,7000 people and 900 trucks will be working to clear the roads across Indiana.
