(Mayfield, KY) - FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell says disaster assistance teams will be arriving in Kentucky Monday after powerful tornadoes and storms blew through the state over the weekend.

Criswell says housing is going to be a "tremendous need" as efforts move forward.

Governor Andy Beshear has opened up state parks in impacted areas to serve as shelter for displaced Kentuckians. The governor says at least 50,000 Kentuckians are without power.

The National Weather Service is still verifying the number of tornadoes that hit.
