(Louisville, KY) - A former LMPD sergeant is suing the attorney for Breonna Taylor's boyfriend.
The suit by John Mattingly claims Kenneth Walker's lawyer Steve Romines made "false and defamatory statements" about Mattingly, including issuing a statement to the media accusing the now retired officer of "executing" Taylor.
The suit filed this week also says Romines accused Mattingly of breaking into the apartment, "trying to frame Walker for a crime and trying to cover up Mattingly's purported 'murder' on the same day."
Police shot and killed Taylor in her apartment when Walker fired at officers, wounding Mattingly.
