Police Merit Board Upholds Firing Of LMPD Detective

(Louisville, KY) - The LMPD Merit Board is upholding the firing of a detective involved in the Breonna Taylor case.

The board voted unanimously Wednesday against Joshua Jaynes' attempt to get his job back.

Prior to the vote Mayor Greg Fischer defended then-interim Chief Yvette Gentry for her decision to fire Jaynes.

Jaynes has been accused of lying to get the search warrant that led to the deadly raid on Taylor's home.
