(Indianapolis, IN) - The Indianapolis 500 will likely be the largest gathering of people at one event since the pandemic began.

Race organizers are planning on allowing 40 percent capacity, which for a place as large as Indianapolis Motor Speedway means 135,000 fans.

The 105th running of the race is scheduled for May 30th. Temperatures will be taken of all fans entering and anyone with a fever or COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed to attend.

Masks must be worn for anyone over the age of four. Organizers are planning to space out the fans in designated seating areas.
