Louisville Prepares For Anniversary Of Breonna Taylor's Death

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- The mayor's office and Louisville Police have outlined preparations for this weekend -- the anniversary of Breonna Taylor's death.

This Saturday marks one year since the police shooting of Breonna Taylor -- her death sparking protests in the city and across the country.

Several streets around Jefferson Square Park will be closed from after morning rush hour on Friday through Sunday -- only pedestrian traffic will be allowed in the area.

Mayor Fischer says the goal is to have a safe place for people to gather in a peaceful, lawful way. He also announced plans to install a permanent memorial in the park later this spring to mark last year's racial justice protests.
