LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Metro Louisville health officials say the city is back in the "triple red category" after posting a record number of COVID-19 cases.
In the weekly briefing Tuesday, Mayor Greg Fischer started with some optimism, saying the city is "playing offense" against COVID with the launch of the vaccine distribution program before Metro Health Director Dr. Sarah Moyer announced last week's case count of 4,140, an all time high.
Dr. Moyer also announced the city recorded 59 virus related deaths, also a record. She is recommending that anyone who is in any sort of a public setting, even if it is an essential service, to get tested.
