(Louisville, KY) - There will be more oversight of the LMPD.
The full Metro Council overwhelmingly approved a civilian review board ordinance Thursday.
The sponsor of the ordinance Councilwoman Paula McCraney said the review board is not anti-police, adding it's "actually pro police and pro citizens."
Some members of the council and community members who worked on the ordinance have expressed concern about amendments made, saying they reinforce the perception that the department is policing itself.
