Louisville Metro Police Announce Plan For Weekend Protests

(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Metro Police say they have full intentions of keeping everyone safe during this weekend's protests.

A militia group, called NFAC, announced plans to descend on Louisville this Saturday, fully armed. They're demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, who was killed during a police raid. In response, counter-protestors have called on their members to come to Louisville.

Major Aubrey Gregory says police are going to keep the people with opposing viewpoints "separated on both sides of 5th Street."

Gregory said the police department has been in communications with the NFAC and other protesters to keep the event as peaceful as possible.
