(Frankfort, KY) - Governor Andy Beshear says state and federal authorities should investigate the shooting death of an EMT by Louisville Metro Police Department officers.
Breonna Taylor was shot to death in March by officers who say they opened fire after her boyfriend wounded an officer.
Officers were investigating drugs and say they announced their presence at Taylor's apartment while her boyfriend claims he fired in self defense.
Jefferson Co. Commonwealth's Attorney Recuses Office Breonna Taylor Case
(Louisville, KY) - Jefferson County Commonwealth's attorney is recusing his office from the investigation of the police-involved shooting death of an EMT.
Breonna Taylor was killed in March when LMPD officers opened fire at her apartment during a drug investigation. Police say they fired after Taylor's boyfriend wounded an officer.
Tom Wine's office is asking for a special prosecutor to be appointed to the case since he's prosecuting Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker for attempted murder of a police officer.
