Sen. McConnell Says Liability Shield Must Be Part Of Any New Stimulus

Senate Resumes Hearings After A Pause Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

(Washington, DC) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says if there is going to be any more stimulus packages approved, they will include a liability shield or it won't happen.

The Kentucky Republican said more than 700 businesses, universities and others have already been sued because of the pandemic.

McConnell says the fear of lawsuits will keep many businesses from reopening. He said the White House is backing him up saying a limited liability shield must be part of any new stimulus bill.
