LMPD Chief Says Louisville Facing Two Pandemics: COVID-19 & Violence

(Louisville, KY) - LMPD Chief Steve Conrad says the city is facing two pandemics, the coronavirus and increased violent crime. 

Chief Conrad said Wednesday that violent crime is up in nearly every category.

There have been 36 murders in Louisville so far this year compared to 23 at the same time last year. 

The number of shootings is up 150 percent in March and April compared to the same months in 2019.
