Reopening Economy The Focus Of New Midwest Governors Group

(Chicago, IL) - Midwest Governors are getting together to focus on reopening the economy.

The announcement Thursday means governors of Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, and Kentucky will put together a plan that takes multiple things into account.

Those include controlling the rate of new infections and hospitalizations in addition to a better way to test and trace.

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb said during his briefing Thursday he is aiming for an early May reopening for his state's economy.

The governors pledged to pursue a "fact-based, data-driven approach."
