Kentucky Exposition Center To Become Makeshift Hospital

(Louisville, KY) - The Kentucky Exposition Center will be converted to a field hospital in the fight against the coronavirus.

Governor Andy Beshear made the announcement during his daily press conference Thursday.

“Our goal is to be ready when the surge comes,” Gov.Beshear said. “I want to have it ready before we need even one of those single beds. And if we don’t end up needing it: Hallelujah!”

At least 2,000 hospital beds will be set up at the fairgrounds.

The Kentucky National Guard and the Army Corp of Engineers will help build and operate the facilities.
