(Louisville, KY) - Louisville officials say the chance of contracting coronavirus here remains low.
During a press conference Thursday, Mayor Greg Fischer said the city's departments know how to work together, along with community partners to fight infectious diseases.
Fischer pointed to Louisville's success in handling the 2017 hepatitis A outbreak.
Several people in Jefferson County are self-monitoring after returning from countries where coronavirus is widespread.
Gov. Beshear: Kentucky Ready To Respond If Coronavirus Spreads
(Frankfort, KY) - Governor Andy Beshear says Kentucky is ready to respond to the coronavirus if it spreads to the state.
The governor and several state health officials discussed the state's preparations publicly Thursday.
Beshear says there are no active cases in Kentucky and that 100 people in Louisville who recently returned from China have tested negative for the condition but are being monitored.
