Most Iconic Christmas Dish By State

Starz Power Brunch at Essence Festival 2018

'Tis the season to feast, but what you put on the dinner table depends on where you live.

Delish.com mapped out the most iconic dishes in the country and meat takes the lead among nine states.

Alaska, Idaho and Maine opt for prime rib, folks in Texas, Oregon and Connecticut dig into turkey, and goose is a favorite in Pennsylvania.

Seafood is the most iconic in West Virginia and New Jersey, while Maryland goes for crab cakes. Other main dishes include lasagna in Ohio, tamales in New Mexico and beef stew in Nevada.

Now for the desserts. Six states are known for some sort of pie while it's cookies in five states. Flan is most iconic in Arizona, bread pudding in Kentucky and cinnamon rolls in Oklahoma.

The only state to go with a beverage is Washington with mulled wine.
