LMPD Chief Spars With Metro Council, Apologizes To Officers

(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad is asking Metro Council for money to beef up the department.

Conrad said Wednesday the department has lost more than 50 officers this year.

He says the problem is compounded by the fact that the budget that was passed makes cuts and delays recruitment classes due to the city's shortfall.

Following the meeting, Chief Conrad released a video on Facebook apologizing to the force for saying that he's not responsible for officer morale.
