President Will Not Meet With Mayor Fischer During Visit To Louisville

(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has not been granted the visit with President Trump that he requested.

Fischer's office sent a letter to the White House on Monday asking to meet with Trump during Wednesday's visit to Louisville to talk about gun violence across the country.

However, White House officials said the President won't have time in his schedule for a meeting with the Democratic mayor.

Fischer's letter said he's called on the Senate to vote on pending gun safety legislation on background checks and to consider red-flag laws and bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
