US Vets And Families Commemorate D-Day 75th Anniversary In Normandy

(Louisville, KY) - The largest gathering of World War II veterans in Kentucky's history is happening Thursday. 

Thursday is the 75th anniversary of D-Day. More than 100 vets will attend an event called Operation Bravo Zulu in Louisville.

The ceremony put on by Honor Flight Bluegrass will be held Thursday evening at Louisville Memorial Auditorium.

Kentucky Air National Guard Participating In Re-enactment Of D-Day

(Louisville, KY) - More than two dozen Kentucky Air National Guard airmen are on a special mission in Europe. 

They arrived this week aboard two military transport planes to re-enact a historic event. 

The U.S. paratroopers will drop over Normandy, France Thursday as part of the 75th anniversary of D-Day. 

More than 160,000 Allied troops crossed the English Channel as Operation Overlord unfolded.
