Those Against Proposed Tattoo Restriction Speak Out

(Frankfort, KY) - Some Kentucky tattoo artists and their supporters are calling for a stop to a proposed restriction on tattooing scarred skin.

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services held a public hearing on the suggested amendment to state regulations on Tuesday.

The state says it's trying to address health issues related to tattooing over unhealthy skin.

Those against the regulation say it doesn't define what a scar is and would eliminate the ability to cover up scars related to c-sections, breast cancer treatment, and self-harm.

They say it would also make it impossible to do tattoo coverups.
