McConnell Says No Healthcare Proposal Will Be Coming From Senate

(Washington, DC) - Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says Senate Republicans will not be proposing comprehensive healthcare anytime soon.

Speaking Tuesday on Capitol Hill, the Kentucky Republican said he does not believe the Affordable Care Act is under immediate danger from the courts.

McConnell added there is no reason to "push to the panic button" on eliminating coverage for those with pre-existing conditions under the ACA.

McConnell says he talked to President Trump about the issue at length and they would re-visit the idea before 2020.

Earlier Tuesday, Trump tweeted that he would make overhauling Obamacare part of his platform for his re-election in 2020.
