Sen. Rand Paul Is Set To Oppose National Emergency Declaration

Rand Paul

(Washington, DC) - Senator Rand Paul is the fourth GOP senator who says he will vote against President Trump's national emergency declaration at the southern border.

The Kentucky Republican said at an event Saturday that he can't support Trump's multi-billion-dollar wall because Congress hasn't authorized it.

Paul's vote tips the balance in favor of a Senate majority that is against Trump's national emergency declaration.

That means that if Trump doesn't withdraw the emergency, a vote on the disapproval resolution will pass in the Senate.
