(Louisville, KY) - A Louisville Metro Police officer has died following a fiery crash on I-64 in downtown Louisville.
32 year old Detective Deidre Mengedoht was killed after her cruiser was hit from behind by a semi truck underneath the Belvedere.
The truck was driven by MSD employee Rodger Burdett. He has been arrested and charged with murder and operating under the influence.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve afternoon.
Lanes in both directions of I-64 were closed for several hours as police investigated the scene.
