TopGolf Clears Metro Council, Legal Battle Looms

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- TopGolf clears the Metro Council but still faces a legal battle.

Metro Council's Planning Committee recommended TopGolf's rezoning last month and last night the full Council approved the project on a 20-3 vote. The vote came after more than two hours of debate that saw the approval of an amendment requiring TopGolf to remove its 175 foot poles within six months if the facility goes out of business.

Despite the Metro Council's approval, the project still remains in legal limbo due to a lawsuit filed by some residents of the Hurstbourne neighborhood who say the project adversely affects the area.

Those residents now have 30 days to file suit challenging the Metro Council vote and their attorney Steve Porter expects they will make that decision before Christmas.
