Louisville Woman Recounts Mass Shooting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville woman is recounting the day she was wounded in a mass shooting.

Whitney Austin was shot 12 times as she walked through the front doors of the Fifth Third Bank headquarters in Cincinnati earlier this month.

The gunman, Omar Santa Perez, had opened fire in the lobby.   He killed three people before he was shot dead by police.

Austin remembers being angry that she had been shot.   The mother of two played dead until she saw a police officer, who later pulled her to safety.

The 37-year-old Austin is recovering at her home in Louisville.   She has started the Whitney Strong Foundation that is dedicated to reducing gun violence by promoting responsible gun ownership.
