(Washington, DC) -- Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is accusing Democrats of reaching a "new low" in the fight over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Opening the Senate Monday, McConnell said Democrats and their allies are trying to destroy Kavanaugh with decades-old allegations that are unsubstantiated and uncorroborated.

He called it an outright smear campaign.
Kavanaugh is now facing two allegations of sexual misconduct when he was in high school and in college. He has strongly denied the allegations.
