LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The grand champion country ham fetched a record price at the Kentucky State Fair.
It sold for $2.8 million at auction -- a combination of winning bids by Louisville businessman Mark Lynn ($1.4 million) and Central Bank ($1.4 million).
The bid money goes to charities, including 4H, FFA and UK Hospital.
The 18 lb. ham was produced by Broadbent Foods of Kuttawa, Kentucky.
