JCPS Working On Counter Offer To State Takeover Deal

Louisville, Ky.  --  JCPS is preparing a counter offer to a proposed settlement the Kentucky Department of Education has made to avoid a state takeover.

The original date to accept interim Education Commissioner Wayne Lewis' offer has already passed but JCPS was granted an extension.  Wednesday, JCPS Superintendent Dr. Marty Polio could not say when the counter offer will be ready or what will be in the proposal, however, student assignment appears to be an issue that's important to both sides.
