Louisville Officials Commemorate New Gun Law

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A new law that strengthens penalties for repeat offenders using guns is commemorated in Louisville.

Senate Bill 210 enhances the penalties for felony gun possession when it is the second offense or greater and targets criminals using guns in crime.

According to LMPD Cheif Steve Conrad, the bill was "palatable" for gun supporters because of its focus on repeat criminals.

Chief Conrad, Mayor Fischer, and Senator Dan Seum were on hand to praise the legislation.
