LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville fire truck on an emergency run is involved in a fatal crash.
The hook and ladder truck was westbound on Algonquin Parkway with its lights and sirens on when LMPD says a Mercury going south on McClosky Avenue pulled in front of the truck.
The collision spun the car around and sent the fire truck careening off the road where it hit a tree and a brick wall.
LMPD Spokesman Dwight Mitchell says one person was killed but it’s not clear if the person was in the Mercury or was a pedestrian.
The four firefighters on the truck were taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.
