LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A 24-acre vacant lot in Louisville's West End will host a state-of-the-art multi sports complex.
Mayor Greg Fischer announced Tuesday that the Louisville Urban League was selected to develop the complex on the Heritage West property, located on West Muhammad Ali Boulevard.
The complex will feature an indoor track and field facility and will be designed to host a variety of sporting events.
Retail space and related amenities will also be included in the design.
The facility is expected to cost about $30 million, with a mix of funds coming from the city, philanthropists, corporate sponsors and private financing.
It’s scheduled to open in 2020.
