Charging Documents Filed Against Dan Johnson

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The process that could end with the removal of Dan Johnson from the Metro Council is underway.

A group of five Metro Council members have filed a seven page charging document against Johnson, setting the stage for a Council Court proceeding.]

The charges against Johnson include the recent incidents involving Councilwoman Jessica Green and a legislative aide to Angela Leet as well as several other incidents from several years ago.

Green says the process could last up to 120 days but is optimistic that they can get it wrapped up sooner.

Johnson declined to comment on the matter but in a direct Twitter message says he's taking a leave of absence from the council, saying he's having severe neck pain.
