LOUISVILLE, Ky -- A flat-bed truck will make a special delivery Saturday morning to Whiskey Row's Old Forester Distillery. Vendome Copper and Brass Works created a 4700 pound column still for the Main Street distillery which is slated to open in spring 2018.
Old Forester Master Taster Jackie Zykan says the still will stand 44 feet tall and 24-inches wide and will provide the distillate for all things Old Forester. The massive still will be lifted over the three story Old Forester facade and lowered into place.
Placement of the still is a key piece of construction for the distillery construction site, once its in place a roof can be added, then interior work can begin. The still will be lifted into place Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m.
