LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A local gay rights activist says President Trump's transgender military ban is "ludicrous."
Trump is barring transgender people from serving in the military "in any capacity," citing "tremendous medical costs and disruption."
Fairness Campaign Director Chris Hartman says "The idea that transgender servicemembers are a burden to the armed services couldn't be further from the truth."
Hartman says transgenders in the military are "brave soldiers who have served nobly."
