Did Police Use Excessive Force on Chase Suspect?

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Police work doesn't "always look pretty."

That from LMPD Sgt. Phil Russell, responding to comments on social media about the take-down of a suspect who led police on an hour-long chase Thursday.

News helicopter video appears to show an LMPD officer and an Indiana State Police officer punching and kicking Robert Ellis II after he was dragged from his pickup at the end of the chase.

Russell tells "Kentuckiana's Morning News" you don't know what exactly happened when you are watching from "100 feet above."

ISP Sgt. Jerry Goodin says if there were any improprieties by an ISP officer, they will be held accountable.
