LMPD Breaks Up Alleged Murder-For-Hire Scheme

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A business dispute leads to an alleged murder-for-hire scheme.

Detectives says they caught wind of an alleged murder-for-hire scheme orchestrated by 50 year old Clifton Geary, Jr. to "kidnap, hurt and kill" a man in Florida.

Lt. Emily McKinley says they've gathered the victim once owned or operated a business in Louisville and Geary's plot was centered on "a large sum of money."

She says no crime was committed in Florida that they are aware of and that Geary did all the planning for the alleged hit in Louisville.

Geary is being held at Metro Corrections and is charged with solicitation to commit murder.
