Metro Corrections Director Takes Medical Leave

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A temporary change of command at Metro Corrections.

On the same day he was forced to re-open the old jail above LMPD headquarters to hold a growing Metro Corrections population, Director Mark Bolton announces he will take a medical leave at the advice of doctors. Bolton told jail employees in a letter he's taking the leave to address issues with his knees. Bolton does not say how long he will be off the job, saying only he looks forward to getting back once medically cleared. While Bolton is sidelined, Chief of Staff Dwayne Clark will serve as interim director.
