KFC Takes Truth In Advertising Into Space

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- KFC is taking truth in advertising to a new level....literally.

The Louisville-based fast food eatery has been running an ad campaign with actor Rob Lowe as Colonel Sanders, announcing they will send their new Zinger chicken sandwich into space.

Keeping to their word, KFC and World View have teamed up to send the sandwich into space for four days on a high-altitude balloon in a capsule designed like a KFC bucket.

KFC is taking the mission seriously, sending the sandwich through chamber tests to see if it can withstand being in space.

The company is not sure what they will do with the sandwich when it returns to Earth. The launch window for the mission opens June 21.
