LOUISVILLE, Ky -- The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is set to make return appearances in Kentucky. The NCAA releases its four-year bid plan and awards a 2019 Regional to Louisville and the KFC Yum Center. A 2021 1st and 2nd round is also awarded to Lexington and Rupp Arena.
In addition to the regional games, Louisville is also selected six other events that includes three national championships in men's and women's cross country and women's field hockey.
The Louisville Sports Commission estimates the men's regional at the Yum Center will have an estimated $15 million economic impact on the city, and the total impact for all the events will be $20 million over a four year period. Bids for the events were placed about six months ago.
