LOUISVILLE, Ky -- She said it was a joke, but a Jefferson County judge finds it was no laughing matter. In January, Jefferson District Judge Jennifer Leibson, thought she was playing a joke on attorney Scott Barton...by formally holding him in contempt of court for adding expungement cases to the docket when she issued a "No Add-on" order. Barton wasn't responsible for the additions.
He was escorted from the courtroom by security and held for five-minutes...while he was out of the courtroom Leibson informed the court it was a joke. Judge Leibson self-reported the incident to the State Judicial Conduct Commission which has issued a public reprimand against her.
