RedBull Global Rally Cross To Make First Stop In Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kentucky Expo Center will become a racetrack this May.

The temporary change is for the first ever appearance in Kentucky of the RedBull Global Rallycross series. The cars, 600 horsepower production cars with four wheel drive, will compete on a track made up of dirt and pavement and will feature a 70 foot dirt "table top" jump.

Series officials say Louisville landed a slot on the schedule based in part on television ratings in the Louisville market from previous seasons.

The event is scheduled for May 20 and 21 with the second day's racing to be carried nationally on NBC.
