LONDON, Ky -- One man is dead in an officer-involved shooting in Laurel County. The coroner confirms that a man was killed in an exchange of gunfire with sheriff's deputies around 9:30 last night at a home east of London. Officers were responding to a call of a shooting and screams. When they arrived several shots came from the home, hitting the deputy's vehicle.
The officers returned fire. After state police arrived on the scene a robot was sent into the home and found a man dead. Two other people in the home were taken into custody. The dead man has not yet been identified.
State police are leading the investigation.
