Speedway Beer Bill Advances To Kentucky House

(Frankfort, KY)  --  The Kentucky Speedway is trying to avoid being caught without the ability to sell beer to race fans.  A legislative committee has approved House Bill 130, allowing the state's largest sports venue to sell alcohol outside prevailing times for local sales.  Track general manager Mark Simendinger says it would come into play if their Saturday Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race is postponed by rain.  A rescheduled race time depends in part on NBC's programming schedule for the following day.  The proposal is limited to venues with capacities of at least 75,000.  This year's Quaker State 400 is July 8.
