LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A clean bill of health for one of Louisville's largest animal patients.
Vikentii, a seven year old, 400 pound Amur tiger, spent about two hours in the Louisville Zoo operating room for his bi-annual exam.
Veterinarians sedated the tiger in his enclosure before moving him to the zoo hospital to have his teeth cleaned while undergoing a full physical. Zoo vets say Vikentii is well trained and cooperated in the sedation process.
To maintain the cat's dental heath, he's given bones to help break up any buildup on his teeth between exams.
