LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Rick Pitino says Louisville is a dangerous city.
While taking questions on the curfew violation of Mangok Mathiang and Deng Adel, Pitino says the curfews are there for the safety of the players. He further explained his position by saying "You see all the incidents that are going on in life right now, never mind basketball, and it's dangerous out there. It really is a dangerous society today. Not only everybody keeps remarking about Chicago, its very dangerous in Louisville....you know...relatively speaking to the population."
Asked about Pitino's remarks, the Mayor's Office deferred comment to the police department. An LMPD spokeswoman says the agency has no comment.
